The dog daycare and boarding facility at 124 Baker Road in Lake Bluff has a new name and a national brand behind it. Bark N Park, which served pet owners in the area for more than seven years, has officially rebranded as Digs Dog Care.

The transition is already complete. The former Bark N Park website now redirects customers to the Digs Dog Care booking portal for the Lake Bluff location, which offers supervised daycare (branded "DayPlay"), overnight boarding and training. Grooming is listed as coming soon.

Digs Dog Care will mark the rebrand with an open house on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Baker Road facility. The event will include tours of the redesigned space, snacks for people and dogs, onsite activities, takeaway gifts and a raffle with the chance to win a free year of DayPlay.

The open house will also feature an adoption event with Placing Paws Rescue, a Lake County foster-based rescue group established in 2008 that has placed nearly 4,000 animals. Adoptable dogs will be on site to meet potential families.

Digs said in its announcement that it plans to partner with local shelters and participate in community initiatives at the locations it operates.

Digs Dog Care was founded in 2024 through a partnership between Frontenac, a Chicago-based private equity firm, and operating executives including CEO Jeff Nathan, chairman Todd Siwak and board director Greg Siwak. The company acquires independent pet care facilities and integrates them into a national network while retaining local staff.

The company has grown to dozens of locations nationally, according to its LinkedIn page, and employs between 501 and 1,000 people across its network. Its first fully rebranded location opened in Charlotte, N.C., in August 2025. Lake Bluff is among the subsequent rebrands.

Digs' model keeps existing teams in place after an acquisition. Andrew Zbeeb, a pet care business owner with more than 20 years of experience who partnered with Digs at a different location, said in an August 2025 Frontenac press release that the company "remained professional and true to their word throughout the entire process, keeping the needs of team members and the pups top of mind."
