Lake Bluff Elementary School District 65's Board of Education will hold its first regular meeting of the 2026-27 school year on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. at the district office, 121 E. Sheridan Place.

The session will be streamed live on YouTube and recorded for later viewing on the District 65 Board webpage. That marks a sharp contrast with the board's Aug. 11 retreat, which was not live-streamed or recorded and required families to attend in person or submit written comments by email.

How to participate

The meeting is open to the public. Residents who want to speak during public comment will have three minutes. Speakers must identify themselves and wait to be recognized by the board president. Board members will not respond to comments during the meeting.

Anyone who speaks or attends must conduct themselves with respect and civility and abide by Board Policy 8:30, Visitors to and Conduct on School Property.

Families who cannot attend in person can email written comments to Amy Kotnik at [email protected]. Those comments will be read aloud during the session.

Agenda and timing

The agenda and additional meeting materials will be posted to the Board of Education page at lb65.org ahead of the meeting. As of Thursday, Aug. 13, the agenda had not yet been published.

The meeting falls nine days before District 65 students return for their first day of school on Thursday, Aug. 27. It is the first opportunity this school year for residents to address the board in a recorded, publicly accessible format.
