Lake Forest College is looking for its next women's lacrosse head coach after Casey Ryan resigned following a three-season run that ended with a Coaching Staff of the Year award from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

Jim Catanzaro, the college's assistant vice president for athletics, announced the search on Monday, June 15, 2026. No timeline or application deadline has been disclosed.

"Our women's lacrosse program has quickly become one of the strongest in the Midwest and I look forward to that success continuing under new leadership," Catanzaro said in the announcement. "The track record of the team, the quality of our facilities, and the high-level education available at the College make the position an attractive one for an experienced or up-and-coming coach."

Ryan took over as head coach before the 2024 season and led the Foresters for three of the program's five years of NCAA Division III competition. Her final season produced an 11-5 record, per the NACC, and six Foresters earned all-conference honors. Senior midfielder Shannon Gibbons won NACC Midfielder of the Year and was later named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region team. Senior goalkeeper Cecilia Adams took home NACC Goalkeeper of the Year.

Since beginning play in 2022, the program holds a 60-28 overall record and a 33-2 mark in conference play across five seasons spanning two different league affiliations. Lake Forest joined the NACC in 2025 and won the league tournament in its first year. In all, the Foresters have captured three regular-season conference titles and three tournament championships, winning at least one title in each of the program's five seasons.

No reason for Ryan's resignation has been made public. The position is posted on the college's employment page.
