Lake Forest's free Summer Concert Series closes out Thursday, Aug. 27, with a final show at Northcroft Park featuring 28 Days, a high-energy variety cover band.

The series' standard start time all summer has been 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair.

The Aug. 27 date is a bonus. Lake Forest Parks & Recreation originally scheduled the series to run from June 11 through Aug. 13, with 10 concerts split between Market Square and neighborhood parks. A couple of shows were postponed due to wet weather, extending the season by two weeks and giving residents one more Thursday evening of live music, according to Lake Forest Love.

Program manager Aaron Dalzot planned the 10-concert lineup after attending the Suburban Recreation Association showcase in November 2025. "We're excited to bring back our Summer Concert Series with 10 concerts this season — eight in Market Square and two in our neighborhood parks," Dalzot said ahead of the June 11 opener, according to Lake Forest Love's season preview.

Several concerts this year featured opening acts for the first time: a group from Citadel Theatre performed July 2, Gorton Center took the stage July 16, and the Lake Forest Dance Academy performed July 30.

Food vendors throughout the summer included Left Bank, Snowie and Rosati's. The series was sponsored by Lake Forest Bank & Trust, Market Square and Four Seasons Heating & Cooling.

Parks & Recreation has hosted concerts at neighborhood parks for about five years, according to Dalzot.
