The Music Institute of Chicago runs a Lake Forest campus offering private music lessons, early childhood classes, chamber music, ensembles and adult programs, with need-based financial aid available.

Hana Marek, campus director for the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff location, said she wants to expand the campus's ties with local schools and organizations, according to an interview with the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce.

"If music is meaningful to you, there is a place for you here," Marek told the Chamber.

The nonprofit, founded in 1931, serves students across five campuses and online. It employs 130 faculty members and provides scholarships alongside its tuition-based programs, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

The institute's free Fall Festival concert takes place Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave. in Evanston. The event features student and faculty performances and a Community Sing.
