The Chicago Bears are getting their own Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, with filming planned in and around Chicago this summer.
Hallmark Media, the NFL, and Skydance Sports announced Thursday, June 25, that the Bears will star in "Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story," the third installment in the franchise that began with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024 and continued with the Buffalo Bills in 2025. The film will premiere later in 2026 during Hallmark Channel's 17th annual Countdown to Christmas event.
Head coach Ben Johnson and second-year tight end Colston Loveland delivered the news in a video posted by the team. Football account @MLFootball joked that Johnson "looked like he was being HELD HOSTAGE" in the clip, noting the football-first coach's visible stiffness.
@MLFootball: "Chicago #Bears head coach Ben Johnson looked like he was being HELD HOSTAGE while talking about the Hallmark movie, 'Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story.' Ben only cares about football."
Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren endorsed the partnership in a statement, calling it an opportunity to connect with fans through film.
The cast has not been announced. No specific Chicago filming locations have been named, and it is unknown whether production will visit Lake Forest, where the Bears are headquartered at Halas Hall.
The first Holiday Touchdown movie, featuring the Chiefs, drew 2.88 million viewers. Hallmark says more than 75 percent of its Countdown to Christmas audience also watches the NFL.
Separately, Bears training camp opens at Halas Hall on Monday, July 28. Free tickets for ten open practices go live on Ticketmaster on Wednesday, July 8, at 10 a.m.
