The Chicago Bears and Hallmark are auctioning a featured walk-on role in their upcoming holiday film, with proceeds going to the team's Bears Care charity. The team announced the auction on Thursday, July 9, calling it "a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Halas Hall."
Fans can bid through the Chicago Bears Official App by tapping "More," then "Bears Care Auction." The team has not publicly disclosed a starting bid or deadline. Proceeds benefit Bears Care's holiday giving initiative, which serves families during the holiday season.
"Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story" is the third installment in the Hallmark/NFL/Skydance Sports franchise, following movies centered on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs film featured cameos from coach Andy Reid, several players and Donna Kelce.
Filming is already underway. The Chicago Tribune reported six production trailers parked on Lower St. Clair Street in downtown Chicago on Thursday, July 9, with wardrobe pieces in Bears orange, navy and white visible inside. Hallmark had previously called for extras to film at Soldier Field on Monday, July 7, and Tuesday, July 8, requiring participants to wear winter attire during summer daytime shoots.
Head coach Ben Johnson and tight end Colston Loveland appeared in the announcement video when the Bears were selected for the project on Thursday, June 25. No players or coaches have been confirmed as cast members in the film itself.
Bears president and CEO Kevin Warren said the partnership gives the club and its fans "the opportunity to grow together by creating a special, meaningful movie."
The film is set to premiere in 2026 as part of Hallmark Channel's "Countdown to Christmas" event. No specific air date has been announced.
